Eh! Lupron Sucks!

Lupron is a medication commonly used to treat extreme endometriosis in women. It works by overstimulating the body's own production of hormones which makes that production shut down while the patient is taking the medication. Basically this is medically induced menopause. As a 24 year old woman I can say with strong conviction THIS BLOWS!!!
I was diagnosed with endometriosis four years ago after being in agonizing pain for about 20 months before the diagnosis. The Lupron is the final treatment of a long list of minor surgeries and hormone replacements, if this doesnt work the last option is hysterectomy which at my age no doctor will preform these days.
I started the treatment three months ago and have three more to go. As of now it is not working and I am more miserable then before. The almost six year old pain I had only in my abdomin I had learned to deal with. Well there is no "dealing" with the side effects of menopause. I am constantly sweaty, hot flashes suck! I cant sleep and when I do its restless. I have a constant headache and my wrists, hips and back are killing me. The worst part is the achy joints. I am starting school to be a massage therapist in May and with achy wrists I dont see myself being able to give an hour long massage :(
I could just wait to start school once the treament is over but I have been waiting for this for years and I dont want to give it up just because my wrists hurt temporarily...
ehhhh ok, my whine session is over...

What I Have Created...

We all have our little addictions, weather it is something aweful like cigarettes or something mildly less aweful like Cola. Well, my addiction is Starbucks! I know there are a lot of us out there, cant drive by one without getting a latte and there is one every 5 miles! But I am ashamed to say that my 6 year old, and now my 19 month old as well are also addicts!

This is Little, age 3 at Starbucks with mommy...

By the time Little could say "Hi" he could also say "TarrrBucks now moom" His speech is much better now because now he says (everytime we get in the car) "Hey mom, doesnt a triple grande latte over ice sound awesome on this hot day?" "I know I am burning up!" He is quite conniving that little genius, and he knows how to talk me into it most days...

And then there is Budah, this is him at 7 months!

Not quite old enough for a frap yet, but he can handle that whip cream!!! So now I have the two of them against me. There is no hope for my husband's "Starbucks budget" and limit of once a week! who does he think I am Super Mom...I cant say no to such cute faces and yummy caffeine! I have a feeling it will only get worse too once "The Niece" gets out here (two year old cutie) who also loves her "Tarbucks"

So your welcome corporate coffee, I have neglected my childrens diets and created more addicts for you...Cheers

The Morning Pot

Im talking about coffee guys... Whats a "reasonable" amount for a mother of two up at 6am?
I prepare my coffee the night before so that its ready as soon as possible in the morning. It's the first thing I do aside from pulling on my robe and marching down the hall. I can't function without it! My day is a disaster if I run out and God forbid I run out on a Monday!
Is this an addiction? Or simply a tool to help not murder the hubby and children? What do you think?

Virgin Blogger

OK, Thought I would give this blog thing a try... My blogs are generally for friends and family back home to be able to peek into my crazy life in NC. So get over it if you feel my posts seem like a letter to Grandma. In generally my blog will be a spot for me to vent my frustrations and erks to someone other than my husband. I also thought it would be nice to brush up on my creative writing skills since I will be returning back to school this summer.
So, that being said, let me introduce myself. My name is Brittany, My friends call me Brittany. I HATE being called Brit; I'm not sure why but who cares! Stop being lazy and call me by my given name!
I am married to a soldier, which pretty much means I am his second wife, since he is first married to his job. My husband in in Special Forces trianing for the next two years so even though he is not currently deployed he is still never home! This is a frustration I am sure to bitch about again and again.
I am a mom as well... Got knocked up by my high school sweet heart when I was 17, I married him and now, 7 years later, we have two KICKASS BOYS! For the sake of this being a public post my childrens made up names are as follows:
Little is my 6 year old and my genius mommas boy.
Budah is my 19 month old and my bad ass stunt baby.
I am soon to be a student again. I have been atempting to return to school for 7 years and now the time is finally here. YAY
soo, thats about it for intro's
